Anime husbandos are male characters that fans adore and find attractive. They may even think that they have qualities that make them husband material. They may be kind or genteel or charming, or they’re just so good-looking that fans are more than willing to look past red flags, which is understandable.
Some anime husbandos are known for being incredibly well-built. They’re strong, not necessarily in the sense of their moral character, but they may be able to send Muscle Man Randy Savage running for the hills. Some have a caricature-level musculature, and some have more of a sleeper build that animators only really lean into in certain key instances.
10 Lihaku Is The Apothecary Diaries’ Bonafide Himbo
The Military Official Uses His Physique to Win a Courtesan’s Heart
Lihaku comes to Maomao for help in The Apothecary Diaries when he’s in love with a courtesan that she’s close with. Maomao knows that the prestigious courtesan, Pairin, enjoys men who are incredibly muscular and fit. Lihaku whips off his shirt and poses, asking Maomao if he passes muster.
Lihaku posing is a surefire case of fan service, but it’s also comedic and fuels the plot, as Jinshi catches Lihaku posing in front of Maomao, and he’s mortified. He thinks that his performance is for Maomao, and while he is no slouch, he isn’t quite as muscular as Lihaku. Lihaku’s muscles and good nature serve him well, in the end, as they help him on his journey to win his lady love’s favor.
9 Fukuo Is a Gentle Giant Baker Man in Kiki’s Delivery Service
Fukuo Is All Muscle & Heart
Fukuo doesn’t say much of anything in Kiki’s Delivery Service, but his good looks and kindness speak for him. He works hard every day and seems to really enjoy his life with his wife as they rise early every morning to make bread and run their bakery. Though he’s a minor side character, he’s a fan favorite because he dotes on his wife, and he’s such a happy, contented person.
Fukuo is extremely nurturing to everyone. Jiji is intimidated by him, at first, but Fukuo’s quick to set him at ease, showing the cat that he’s a gentle giant. He’s also attentive to his pregnant wife without being overbearing. He pays close attention to the people around him, like when he makes a sign out of bread to advertise Kiki’s flying delivery service. Fukuo has everything going for him–he’s a great father, a loving husband, and an artisan baker.
8 Son Hak Rescues Yona Practically Single-Handedly in Yona of the Dawn
They Call Hak the Thunder Beast
Hak’s strength and battle prowess earns him the title “Thunder Beast” in Yona of the Dawn. He wasn’t always a strong, accomplished warrior. Princess Yona knew him since they were both scrawny children, which is obvious from how much they tease each other.

Hak has many abilities, including martial arts, swordsmanship, medical skills like field dressing, and immense strength. He doesn’t need a weapon to cause catastrophic damage in a fight. 7 Choso Is Surprisingly Strong in Jujutsu Kaisen
Choso Draws Strength from His Purpose
It seems like Gege and the animators took Choso in a bit of a different direction in the Season Two of Jujutsu Kaisen. He, along with Nanami and Gojo, is a great source of female gaze fan service, especially in his fight with Yuji Itadori. In the earlier half of Jujutsu Kaisen, Choso looks more slender and maudlin.
While Choso remains looking maudlin, though the melancholic look absolutely suits him, his battle scene with Itadori showcases his physical strength to a delightfully ridiculous level. Choso’s physical strength has canonical and aesthetic purpose. The more he leans into his life purpose of protecting his brothers, the stronger he gets.
6 Prince Ashitaka’s Curse Gives Him Infernal Power in Princess Mononoke
Ashitaka Has to Fight Back the Bulk of His Strength
Prince Ashitaka was already a talented warrior well before the boar demon, Nago, touched him with the Iron Curse in Princess Mononoke. He was competent enough to sword fight and shoot an arrow all while riding his red elk, Yakul. Once the Iron Curse takes hold of his arm, Ashitaka’s strength doubles and then triples as it travels through his body.
Ashitaka must resist the abilities that the curse imbues him with. When he shoots an arrow, he’s shocked to find that a single arrow lops off his target’s entire limb. He can also lift an enormous portcullis with just one arm. Ashitaka is a singular person with impeccable honor because, even though he has an immeasurable strength, he tempers it, uses it sparingly, and uses it only when there is no other choice.
5 D Inherits the Best of Both Worlds in Vampire Hunter D
D Has Very Few Weaknesses
D is a rare creature in the Vampire Hunter D world. Dhampirs are half-vampires that come from the union between humans and vampires. Vampires are cruel, sadistic creatures who tend to treat humans more like livestock than mates. D’s sire isn’t just any vampire, either, his father is the Sacred Ancestor, Dracula.

With over forty years of monster hunting experience to his name, Vampire Hunter D is anime’s ultimate horror action icon.
D’s dhampir advantages are what make him such a stellar vampire hunter. Sunlight is a weakness for him compared to humans, but it certainly won’t set him ablaze and kill him like it would a regular vampire. He’s resistant to magic, he has amazing healing abilities, he can go great lengths without feeding, and he has a hardy endurance to which few can compare. Though Vampire Hunter D isn’t a romance, D is considered a very romantic character because of his loneliness, valor, and protective nature.

3 Guts Uses His Brawn for Good in Berserk

Guts is an incredibly tragic character in Berserk. Often, his strength is as much a burden as it is an asset. Guts’ fighting gifts also draw the attention of the man who will one day ruin his life, Griffith.

Berserk Manga Resumes for the First New Release in 6 Months
Despite frequent breaks, Kentaro Miura’s iconic Berserk manga series is coming back with its first chapter release dates in half a year.
Fans of Berserk often remark on the irony that Guts is so battle-hardened and crude-looking, and yet there’s no doubt that he tries his best to be noble and do the right thing. In thematic contrast, Griffith has only the appearance of gentleness, and he is completely corrupted on the inside. For Guts, it takes every ounce of his considerable strength to show the woman he loves his gentleness, but it’s something that he genuinely wants to do, and fans fervently hope for his happily ever after.
2 Dracula Doesn’t Hold Back When It Comes to His Wife in Castlevania

Dracula has so much magic and might at his disposal that it takes him only one year to amass his forces. He strikes while barely even planning it. His cohorts think that he’s lost his logic, but his son, Alucard, understands that Dracula has simply lost his will to live once Lisa is gone, and that he doesn’t actually need to plan that strategically at all to cause untold damage.
