A Gold Coast home reminiscent of a Bali resort sold under the hammer for $7.25m on Friday, nudging on the suburb record.
The Mermaid Waters property known as Mulia, at 30 Montego Court, offered water and city views with a design that focused on hi-tech living and entertaining.
Auctioneer Justin Nickerson of Apollo Auctions called the auction which attracted five registered bidders and a big crowd.
Bidding opened at $5m and swiftly jumped before it was sold at $7.25m.
“The home is amazing, the owners did a really nice job designing the home,” Mr Nickerson said.

The highest sale in Mermaid Waters is $7.7m, paid in February for Armorel at 84 Oceanic Drive.
Another Mermaid Waters mansion known as The White House sold for $7.3m under the hammer in November.
Kollosche Broadbeach’s Michael Kollosche and Taylor Kleinberg marketed Mulia, which included a mosaic-tiled pool, cinema and wraparound terrace.
Designed by the Gold Coast’s BDA Architecture and built by Clamroc Constructions, the residence is a masterclass in quality craftsmanship elevated by the finest materials, fixtures and fittings.
Built to be the forever home of owners Erik and Lea Raaschou, cutting corners or skimping on quality was never an option.

“We don’t really go on holidays, but we did take a big family trip staying at The Mulia and absolutely loved it,” Mr Raaschou said.
