A Millswood home gives you the opportunity to be the very first to enjoy a grand renovation in a stellar location.
Susan and Joel had been living at 15 Wooldridge Ave for many years, and when the opportunity to buy the property next door came up, jumped at the chance to create a grand family entertainer.
“We had two sons and then we decided to have another baby and found we needed a bigger home,” Susan says.
“We got wind that the neighbours were thinking of selling and bought this one off them and immediately set about renovating it.
“We’ve since found an even bigger property in Millswood with a tennis court that was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. That’s only happened recently though, and we renovated this place with the idea of us living here long-term, and as such we haven’t cut corners anywhere. Now that it’s finished it looks incredible. Everything has been done – it’s been rewired, there are new light fittings, new switches, it’s been replumbed and repainted.
“It looks perfect and we’ve gone above and beyond and paid attention to even the finest of details. It looks better than ever and it really feels like a brand new home, and not one that’s been here for almost a century.”

The home has up to four bedrooms – or three and a study – a formal open-plan dining and living room with a bay window at the front and a casual kitchen, living and dining area at the rear.
It opens out to a terrace overlooking an established rearward with a swimming pool.
“We love the lifestyle of having people over and having the kids celebrate their birthdays at home and this would allow for that beautifully,” Susan says.
“That rear yard really is a real haven, and it flows beautifully from the indoors to the outside.I’m really excited at the idea of another family loving using that space.
“It has turned out exactly as we wanted it to. Where it didn’t used to before, it pops on our street now. It’s got the look, and we can’t wait for someone to fall in love with it and with Millswood as we have.”
So irresistible is Millswood’s location Susan says she couldn’t imagine her family living in any other suburb.
“It’s so quiet here, yet we’re just 4km from town, five minutes walk from King William Rd, and three minute’s walk from the train to go to the city or the footy,” Susan says.
“Life is just so easy here. Everyone that comes to visit, particularly from interstate, can immediately see why we love Millswood so much.
“It’s just such a special place to live.”
